This message has NOTHING to do with psychotherapy but...it was therapeutic therapy for me.
Yesterday and then again this morning on Good Morning America the show had a burb on the British Idiol and the contestant Susan Boyle. I am not much into that show... But watching that woman take the stage, Simon's general ignorant attitude, then HEARING her voice.... OMG I about dropped my coffee mug. I like and appreciate music... but I don't think I've been moved like that in a very long time. Like everyone else by the end of her song I was yelling "you go girl!" IDK why I posted this...other than... Sometimes when you are feeling totally dead and numb inside... Something happens like that and you realize....I must not be dead after all. When was the last time you were just knocked back by something so powerful? |

Chaotic,
I just saw that on the news yesterday and looked it up on You Tube. I was so touched to, especially that her mom had just passed away two years prior and she promised her she would do something with her life. Seems she has been a home body and didn't work, heck never even been kissed. She knocked them dead lol....it was definately very moving. I saw that a couple of days ago too. It was very inspiring! At the beginning, when she walks out, the audience is tittering and there is a murmur, like they are making fun of her. The camera goes to one girl who is rolling her eyes at the sight of this plump, birdsnest-gray-haired lady in a loose housedress. Then she opens her mouth and sings and it is silent! She is amazing! And by the end, the audience has completely changed their minds and loves her! It was wonderful.
Last season there was a similarly unprepossessing fellow on the show who was a car audio salesman. And he was fantastic too! I think he won. His name was Paul Potts. Thanks for sharing, Chaotic.

Absolutely!!! I'm the more I listen to that song... I know nothing about singing but it seemed like a REALLY hard song to sing. SHE NAILED IT. That performance... IDK she was definately collaborating with the Spirit in my mind.

I was going post something about her too, I have watched the video about 10 times in the last 2 days and everytime it makes me smile and cry at the same time, she is an angel, so humble with this angelic voice. She is the best thing for me right now, she somehow gives me hope that I can still feel something!

Yes I saw this clip on the news, and felt all the normal feelings, like awww poor her and see dont judge a book by a cover and blah blah blah, and then I thoiught, hang on a minute, your being dragged through the media controlled emotion circus, I dont know this woman, I'm making a decision based on her looks, the oppersite of the disicions I make on blond bombshells, you know she is pretty so she must be a ***** or she is plain so she must have a good heart, and instead turned the bloody TV off and got on with real life LOL
