My PC crashed last week. I needed to take it to be restored, but haven't had time. I was at the Post Office this morning, and noticed a yard sale across the street with a table that looked like I could use. I bought it for $5, and it's a dandy. I noticed a PC computer for sale in the garage...big flat screen monitor and the fella showed it to me. It was marked $250, but he said I could have it for $200. I left without buying it, and ran some errands, including Walmart, where I checked on the price of the 19" flat screen monitor, which sells for over $200. The PC tower is a Sony Vaio, and had Windows XP as well as Office already installed. I decided to go back and buy it! So, I'm sitting her typing on my "new" yard sale computer. It's great! The fella who sold it to me is a tech wizard who does this for a living, and he gave me information about retrieving all my files from my old PC. He said I could take the old one to Staples and they would recover all my files from my old PC and save them to a disc which I can add to this one. Plus! my old PC wouldn't play DVD's and this one does. I'm happy with this yard sale find!

Thanks, all of you dear friends, for the congrats on this dandy computer find! It's FAST! and I am so happy with it. The young fella who sold it to me even gave me the backup discs as well as the hard discs for Windows XP and Office! He is a photographer as well, and took me into his home and showed me some of his work, at which I asked him if he was selling at Tamarack, where I sell my work. He said, No, though he was considering it. He was fearful of being rejected by them, and I shared with him my own jurying experience. His work is all WV scenes, and I assured him that they would like his work, which is presented beautifully in framing and matting. I think, along with finding the excellent computer, I found an artist friend!

That is very cool seeker!

I love it now that it is spring and summer seasons because it means garage sales. I just need to start to squirrel away some money so I can shop at them.

You never know what you may find at a garage sale.
