I had a second opinion last week at the university hospital and they recommended I quit all my meds because they aren't working and to see what's "left of me" without the meds.

I'm now tapering off imipramine and Zyprexa - Imipramine currently from 250mg to 200mg and Zyprexa from 25mg to 20mg (well, we'd done that step six weeks or so ago, so not because of the second opinion but because 25mg is a very high dose and I was having side effects) and now to 15mg.

I hope it helps. It'll be a few months before I'm completely off them.

I hope coming off meds works for you. I am on a different mental health forum, and over the last 5 years I have heard more bad things about meds than good. I personally wish I had never started taking psychiatric meds, because I feel like they have done more harm than good. I used to be on 700 mg Seroquel, and now I am down to 250 mg, and hope to come off it completely, but it is a slow process. I've managed to come off Cymbalta, but still also on 15 mg zopiclone and 75 mg trazodone. I hope one day to be med free.

Well done on reducing the Seroquel and quitting the Cymbalta!
Wow, that's a high dose fo zopiclone to be on especially if it's for daily use. I hope you manage to get off the drugs.
