I have a few side affects with lithium...but afraid to taper off of it. I stay thirsty, I'm afraid of the conflicts it can cause, my kidneys hurt sometimes. It's just scary...

Sesiley, the best thing to do is contact your prescribing physician is to ask them what else could be effective and how to transition from one to the other.

Talk to your doctor ASAP. I was in the ICU for a week after being on Lithium because it shut my kidneys down
