Hi. Some of you know that I recently lost my therapist. Today I went to the funeral Mass and met her family and friends. It kind of helped to talk about her life. I miss her and I'm looking on the internet for a support group to attend. I think I'd like an "in person" thing... Does anyone else attend a grief support group? Thanks.

cms39,

Again, my sympathies to you. I so admire your strength in handling all this. Posting here, attending the funeral and reaching out for a support group seem like steps towards healthy ways of dealing with a tough situation.

You are truly an inspiration- if you don't mind me saying so.

Sorry I can't be of any help regarding the support group- I do wish you well with things.

Mandy

OMG I don't think I could do that... I can't even think of it... how are you doing??? Please take care...

yes, I agree, an in-person IRL support group. Check at the hospital for grief counseling... they will know there.

((((((((hugs)))))))))))

I know that the hospice care givers that helped my mother for the last 5 days of her life have several different grief support groups. They cover the sudden, unexpected deaths surrounding accidents & suicides, help for families who lost someone after a longterm illness like cancer, stroke, etc. They even provide counseling to help determine what kind of help might be needed like in my case where there was a trauma involved before my Mother died such that I haven't been able to get to the point of grieving. Sometimes churches provide support groups also. If you can find the support you need here, that is great also. I guess it is a matter of finding what it is that helps you deal with your issues. It would be so hard to lose your T especially if there was a very close bond that was built between you.

I hope you can find what you need for help,
Debbie

I do not want to steal a thread. CMS, I have felt your pain as I have worried about my own T passing. So much history and knowledge. I hope you are well and my thoughts go to you now.
