A good friend of mine (actually haven't talked to him in a while, but we were close in highschool) lost his kid sister in an accident. I haven't seen him yet, since it happend, but I'll be seeing him tomorrow and I'm really stressing over it. How do you handle people who have lost someone close to them? I've never lost anyone so close to me before, and hope I'll never have to. I can't imagine what he's going through right now and I'm just afraid I'm going to say the wrong thing or something. I just wish there was some kind of guide on how to deal with situations like this.

hon there are no right words during times like these. just let your friend know you are there for him anytime. hold his hand, give him a hug or 2. I am sorry for your loss.

Hi Spacecase, my condolences ...It is never an easy thing. Just saying ' I am so sorry to here of your loss ' and like bebop says a hug just to let him know your there that brings people some comfort. There is never anything we can say that would change the way they feel but your presence will be enough.
