i had a message saved in my voice mail for four months from my daddy. it was one week before he passed. it said, "hey, kim. this is dad. give me a call when you get this. i love you."

i saved it. i was saving it forever. i felt like i could still give him a call. i could hear him say he loved me as much as i wanted to.

it's gone... just gone.

Oh Kim, I'm sorry.

It's like losing him all over again, I bet.

Type those words exactly as you remember, print them out on some nice paper and frame them. It might help a little.

Take care,

Petunia

Kimmy,
I had a similar situation that happened this spring,
I had an answered message on my answering machine, dad left for me, and by accident I erased all messages, I was so upset, I cried too. It was their since 2002, the yr he passed away.
Some hugs for you and wishes for better days to come.

Love,
DE

thank you so much. it was so painful to know. it's still so very painful to think about.

petunia did something very wonderful for me, though, that i can print out...she reminded me that i can always talk to him, even tho i'll never hear that one-of-a-kind voice (he was a marine corps drill sergeant for a while...lol) again.

thank you so much. four months later, i'm just beginning to feel the full grief of my father.

I am sorry Kimmy. I had a similar experience as well. My answering machine had a message from my family. it said this is the home of..... One day one of the kids made a new message and erased the one that had my deceased daughter's name on the message. It was pretty sad. He is still with you, I believe it. Just for laughs, the other thing was that my daughter was disabled and incontinent. We used to throw her briefs down to the cellar to a big can at the bottom. One got under the stairs and it was there in the basement. I left it there when I swept and cleaned and one day hubby found it and was so disgusted and angry with me for leaving it there. I was upset that he threw it away. Snot that he was. Feel better please kd. Love you.

I can truly relate to this. I lost my dad last year and am having a very hard time dealing with it.

I hope things get easier for you as time progresses.
