My sister passed away on Oct 27th, and ever since then my depression has gotten worse and it is not getting any better. I cannot focus on the things that I need too anymore and I had to drop a class at Devry right before thanksgiving because of it I just do not really care anymore. Actually I have not cared about anything in a long time the only things important to me are family and friends but always have hated myself and I keep asking why her and not me when will my time be.I miss my sister very much were very close and she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 07 had a double mysectomy that same year she had finally lost her fight at the end of Oct she will be dearly missed. I am so tired of cancer I have lost three members of my family to this horrible disease in the last few years. When will my time be to die am I going to live life and be Miserable all the time I do not want to live if that is the case tired of talking because it seems as if I am whining and should be over this by now. I do not want to bring anyone down so I am staying more to myself and not talking anymore I still try to help but am afraid that I am not helping anyone at all

Bless your heart ~ of COURSE you're sad!! You're still grieving the loss of your dear sister! You're having a hard time getting thru the grief. I think it might be a good idea to talk to a grief counselor. I did when my husband died and it did me a world of good! Call hospice and ask to speak to a grief counselor. Make an appointment to go see one of them. You don't have to have used hospice's services previously. Just ask to make an appointment and talk to a counselor. They are highly trained in grief counseling, and I'm sure they can help you.
Also, it would probably be a good idea to talk to your doctor about getting on an antidepressant, even if it's temporary. It these situations, sometimes we need help - and I think it would benefit you. I'm clinically depressed - I've beenn depressed since I was a child, so I've been taking an antidepressant for many years. It makes a world of difference to me. ![]() So please do those 2 things and help yourself get better. We have to be our own advocate. If we don't work to get better, we never will heal. God bless and best of luck. And be kind to yourself. Hugs, Lee |
