Time heals, yes. But time also allows for the surprise attacks too. After some time, the grief isn't there consitently. It's because of that, it can jump up and smack ya down hard too. Time

My father will be gone 8 months on the 14th. Finally I thought I could go in and go through his massive military documentation (my daughter bought me an album just for that which has the marine corps emblem). I was going through his things, doing very well I thought. Then smack...his watch...it was still running.

Time? Pfft.

That night, in the place between sleep and awake, I swear I heard him call my name.

Oh geez, still running, that woulda blown me too. The album is a wonderful idea. I hope good memories popup as you organize his stuff. Time is an illusion, guess the philosophers got it right.
