Some of you have probably read my post in general about having to move home.

Well it means I won't have my ex's cat in my life, and we were very close.

It's amazing but out of everythng thats happening this is hitting me the hardest.

Im very sad over it.

I'm sad because I have to give up a cat. I'm sad because I have to give up a cat. I'm sad because I have to give up a cat.

oh Rainbowzz - I'm so happy for you! I have two cats which are as important as children to me, and I know I would be devastated if they weren't in my life anymore.

(but get someone else to change the litterbox, or at least wear gloves!)

absolutely LMO. My mom is going to do it for me until i have the baby. I HATE litter, for someone who has three cats, so i always try and get someone else to do it for me. I might even pay her to come do it regularly if i can lol

My husband pisses me off because although he loves his cats more than anything, he procrastinates inconceivably about cleaning their damn litterboxes! I used to clean them everyday before I got knocked up, yet if he does it once a week (after me trying everything in the book - sweet-talking, begging, bribing, screaming, threatening), that's a lot for him. I'm sad because I have to give up a cat.

I do have one litterbox that one of my cats loves (the other hates it so we have a separate one for her). It's called the Smart Cat Box (http://www.smartcatbox.com). It doesn't use regular litter and it seems WAY more hygienic. The pee filters through a grate at the bottom into a container, which you just pour into the toilet then rinse out. The poo doesn't stick to the litter, so you just scoop/flush. The litter itself just needs to be rinsed every 2-3 months and replaced every 6 months. It's a lot cheaper than a regular litterbox system, and since the litter is just safflower seeds and the pee doesn't remain in contact with it, there is no smelly chemical reaction. Less tracking of litter in the house, too.

But as I said, one of my cats HATED it and she ended up ruining the carpet in one of our rooms until we finally got the hint and gave her the old litterbox back.

i'll have to look into the smart cat box, lmo. one of my cats will not poo in the box. she's 13, has been checked out medically and is fine. so, yeah, i'll look into it. haven't heard of it.

oh, (((((rainbowz)))). i'm so so glad that you can keep your cat. oh, my gosh, i'd just die if i've been forced to give my cats. i'm so happy for you.
