Saturday March 1st my uncle called and told me my 43 year old aunt had been in a car accident and died. I've been in Tennessee with my family since Sunday but had to come back for work. My grandpa has Alzheimer's but was pretty lucid while we were there and it broke my heart to see him crying. We don't know yet if he will retain the information or not.

My aunt and I were only 6 years apart in age and I always thought of her more as a sister. When we were growing up she was the coolest person I knew. I thought the sun rose and set because of her. She had the most loving caring heart of anyone I've ever met. I just can't believe she's gone and I desperately want to know what happened but we have no answers as of yet. All we know is she went off the road about a mile from my grandparent's house. I don't know if her car screwed up, if she was on the phone or what happened. All I know is there is a gaping hole in my life where someone very special used to be.

That is tragic. I am so sorry for your loss

Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Please be kind to yourself. I lost my aunt not long ago and I used GROWW grief support. It's a chat service for the bereaved. Please look into their services if you can.
