My fiancée lost his mom almost a year ago and over the past couple of weeks he has been having thoughts about killing himself. He kept it from me until today and I am now in the process of finding him a doctor to help him! I know that he hasn't dealt with her death properly... but what is proper when a parent dies so suddenly? She was my "mom" as well and it has been rough but I really thought that he was doing alright. But he talks about not having dreams of her, not seeing her, and I really don't know what to do!!! I love him and I want him to not hurt but I know that he does! And on top of all that... he has been diagnosed bipolar. He tries to keep himself busy but it hasn't been enough over the past week. WHAT CAN I DO???????????

You are doing the best thing you can be finding him a psychiatrist. Just be there in case he wants to talk about it, even if what he says is strange, it means something to him. Hang in there. It's hard when a parent dies. I haven't gotten over my mother's death either, but I have adjusted to the fact she's not here anymore, but I still miss her everyday. Hope your husband gets the help he needs. Take care.
