This may be triggering to some. Please do not read if that is the case.

Life is so transient. We're here one moment and gone the next.
It also amazes me that in the midst of death life goes on.
My neighbor died.
Apparently, he had been gone for at least five days. I'm sitting here writing this as the coroner is on their way. I'm sitting here writing this as the sheriff and police sit outside writing a report. If my other neighbor hadn't been as observant as she is who knows how long he would have been up there. It probably wouldn't have been noticeable until the smell permeated the halls from his body decomposing.
I didn't know him very well, but every time I saw him he was always polite. He has two brothers that will be handling his funeral. I'm also writing here so that people know that he lived before life inevitably moves on.
I feel...okay. I feel grateful for my life. I feel like I should seize the moments and opportunities available to me while I can. However, I also feel like my job is not to try to go beyond myself. My job is simply to enjoy being alive. Hmm...
Anyway, I just thought I'd let someone know that he lived.
R.I.P

Thank you so much. I'm at peace about it to be honest. Death is a part of life. It just felt like I should put it in writing or something. Let people know that he existed.
Thanks for this!

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Your post really got me thinking though, there is so much truth in your words. It's very real and sometimes hard to accept these things.
