Hi Friends,

Mother's Day is really a tough holiday for me, since I have lost my mother, and through circumstances beyond my control had to make the tough decision to disrupt the adoption of an older child we tried to help.

It feels like the heartbreak will always be with me.

EJ

I hope you can find some peace on this Mother's Day. I lost my mom 26 years ago and I've never been the same since that day she went away. I miss her terribly.

Hugsssss

Hi Muffy and Sabau,

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I've gotten so I don't like holidays anymore -- they are for people who have family, and with the exception of my husband and approximately 10 miscellaneous relatives scattered across the U.S. my family is gone.

Thanks,

EJ

Little Miss Jess,

How thoughtful of you!!

The combination of the loss of your grandmother, Mother's Day, and her birthday next Saturday, have to be having a negative affect on your Mom.

Good for you for doing such a sweet and thoughtful thing for your Mom!!

Hugs,

EJ

Thanks!

I love my mom. She's the best. We walk around and we have inside jokes and she's just awesome. But I'm having her sister from Texas come in Wednesday. She would have for mother's day, plus nana's birthday. But now she's not here they couldn't return tickets sooo... yeah.

We're having chicken, scalloped potatoes, and salad.

****Thank you for this thread****

I came accross this poem and this is exactly how I feel:

Mom

When I was a little girl
I told my friends
My mom is so mean
I wish she would stop telling me
What to do!

When I was a teen
I told my friends
My mom is so mean
She won’t let me stay out
Late at night!

When I was a young adult
I told my friends
My mom is so mean
She keeps calling me and wanting to talk
All the time!

Now that she is gone
I wish she would tell me what to do
Tell me to not stay up so late
Call me and talk for hours
And I lied
My mom was not so mean
She was being a mom
And showing she cared
Mom, I love you and miss you.

Mom,
You know how I am feeling right now and always.
Their is so much to say unsure where to begin. I know that you are watching over me and in my heart.
You know how I am feeling and getting it all on paper would take a lifetime of endless sheets.
I have always loved you now and forever. Through all we went through. Just remember that.
I miss you Momma,
Jilene(Jil)

**My mom pasted a year ago on May 7th and it's been real rough and having Mothers Day so close to her passing just makes it even more difficault to deal with Mother's Day Thread for Those who have lost their mothers ***

JLove,

Our Moms are very special. I am sorry for your loss. Sorry this has been a hard day for you.

Mine has been gone 10 years. I'm not sure why I'm having such a rough time with it today. Mother's Day Thread for Those who have lost their mothers

Hugs,

EJ

Our mother died in 2003 at 96 years of age.

We still had a crazy impulse to buy her a present.

Hugs to everyone who has lost their mother Mother's Day Thread for Those who have lost their mothers
