Hi all. This coming Sunday will be the first anniversary of my boyfriend's death-unexpected from a heart attack. I've tried to avoid thinking about it-that day I'll be at a conference and otherwise occupied in the PM but I still want to do something in his memory. My Jewish friend asked if I wanted to do a Yahrzeit ceremony with her where you light a candle(or, in her case). plug in a wall light and say the Kaddish-might be helpful. thoughts appreciated! AC |

I'm so sorry to hear about your boyfriend. Maybe you could plant a rose bush or something similar in his memory? My sister-in-law took a packet of wildflower seeds and sprinkled them along the road that she travels on a lot. She finds peace when they bloom. "Drove by his flowers today," she says. Just a thought. |

Hi Ac, I'm very sorry you have suffered this loss. Be kind and patient with yourself it takes time to grieve.
When my daughter died I brought an I.D bracelet and had it inscribed with her name and date of passing on. Not as a reminder for I need non. But so I could in some small way carry her with me always. Maybe this is something you also would like to do in memory of your loved one. |
