Short story:
I have two sons, whom I love dearly, but gave up for adoption. I'm still in both their lives.
However my youngest biological son passed away summer of 2015. He was 3.

I struggle with ptsd, I saw him after his accident, in the hospital.
I struggle with my identity regarding him, as I gave him up for adoption
And I often wonder if I still have the right to be affected this much over his death (I'm on my second 1 month medical/stress leave)

Ugh I just....don't know. I feel lost.

Hello northerstorm: Thanks for sharing your struggle. You know... from my perspective at least... grief is grief. You don't need to justify how you feel. Hopefully you're seeing a therapist with whom you can explore what you're dealing with. It's going to take time & work to finally put it to rest. My condolences on your loss...
Thanks for this!

Hello, Northern. Although I have never gone through such a loss, I would like for you to know that you have a special place in my heart because of your bravery. You did a wonderful thing by giving your children to families who could provide for them. You did this out of the love for your children. You are their mother whether you raised them or not You have the right to grieve the loss of your child as long as you need to.
Do you have a support system? Do you have a therapist?

I've moved to a new city, but I'm slowly getting the help I need as issues arise
