It's been over ten years since my son passed away. Is it just me am I grieving to long? It's not to the point where I can't function, work, enjoy life, but rather missing our talks, visits, longing to see him, sometimes crying. Is ten years to long for me to keep have these feeling?

Hello g68: I think the general consensus of opinion seems to be that grieving is very individual & it depends on a number of different factors. I'm not a mental health professional. But you said it's not to the point where you can't function, work, & enjoy life. So it doesn't sound to me as though you've slipped into a serious case of depression. However how you are continuing to feel is obviously of concern to you. So, in that case, perhaps spending some time with a grief counselor or therapist might help you to put your mind at rest. Here's a link to a nice article I found on the Legacy.com website with regard to the grieving process. I hope it helps:

No. The grief of losing a child has no time limits. I'm very sorry for your loss.
