the one thing that someone gave me to remind me of my nan (a little ornament) I've thrown away
that was the only one, too. the only thing I had to remind me of my nan why am I so quick to get rid of things that belong to my family? (well I know the answer to that, because they are abusive), but you know what I mean.... what a stupid decision |

I’m sorry SS
![]() I got rid of my mom’s ring. Sometimes I wish I hadn’t, and other times I understood why I did. It’s a confusing thing, remembering someone you loved that hurt you. |

Having been through a number of sudden upheavals in which I believed that I had lost everything, I’m delighted that a few small trinkets followed me.
Two pair of cuff links that were my dad’s. One pair that were mine. Our wedding rings. A lightsaber from a Luke Skywalker action figure, his. A plastic bear that holds a locket of his hair from his first haircut (oh, but he cried!). Dad. Me. Us. Him. Him. Nothing to toss away. There are memories that I need.
