Broadcaster Tim Russert of NBC died of a heart attack this afternoon at age 58.
It is hard to see someone of his caliber go, both for his contributions to journalism and to life in general. Read his book about his dad, if you haven't. There aren't very many broadcasters I respect -- Peter Jennings was the last one -- Russert was one. Williams is getting there. There really isn't anybody else on the national scene, either on the networks or cable, who is worth a darn. What a loss, at this time in our country's history particularly. His political knowledge was unparalleled. I'm sad for his family, but I'm sad for all of us, too. ![]() Candy |

Hi Candy,
With his presence in the press, it feels like someone in the family has died. He had great energy and obvious passion for the political drama playing out in our country today. (((((((Candy))))))) EJ |
