I don't know what I will do. She had been in a nursing home, and we talked on the phone nearly every day. She went quietly, before anyone knew. She was in such good spirits when we talked on Sunday.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

My mom died 12 days ago and I'd like to offer you a soft, safe hug if that's okay.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
My father recently passed away, just before new years eve, and although you were obviously much closer to your mum than I was to my dad, I understand how difficult it is to lose a parent.
If you ever need to talk or anything, I'm here, as I'm sure many other people on pc are too for you. (:

The viewing/funeral was yesterday. Mom was dearly loved by many people. I went completely to pieces and ran into anther room to hide my grief.

Thank you to everyone here. Your support means so much to me.

Wondering how you are holding up EnglishMajor.

I cried in therapy today for almost two solid hours. I have not cried since I came home from the funeral. I've just been numb.

I bet you are exhausted, sad and lost like me. I hope hugs are okay.

OrangeBlossom,
Yes, I was absolutely exhausted, sad and lost. I cried harder at the funeral than I have cried in years. It was helpful to get that part out of me, but I know there will be times when the sadness and sense of loss will come over me. I just keep telling myself that at least Mom had a quiet and quick death. There was no wasting illness, and we had no issues to resolve between us.
Please, please, my friend, email me if you need to communicate with some who truly understands.
Thanks for this!

There are days now when I can't seem come back to life or something. Kind of like sinking into an abyss. I do what I must to get through the day, but the emptiness...damn.
