It has been eleven years since my ten year old handicap daughter passed away... and my husband and I have both been thinking about her a lot these last few months (even though we just told each other of our thoughts today) - her birthday is coming up here in four days (Feb 18) and she is greatly missed.

I have been thinking about having the VHS tapes of her transfered over to cd's - I would like to view her sweet smile and laughter again... and I think it would help the family to see her beautiful face and the time they spent with her - my youngest son (now 19) does not remember much of the time he spent with his big sister as he was only seven when she passed, even though he loved her so.

Strange how time passes and then all at once you and your spouse start to remember at the same moment....

(((((Rhap)))))) That might be a nice idea if you think everyone could handle it. I have a VHS of my dad's retirement party (he was a bigshot at an airline, people came from literally all over the world to wish him well) and I haven't ever been able to watch it because I think it would just be too hard on me. He'll be gone 10 years in August.

I hope you and your family can find comfort in the many good memories I'm sure you have.

like candy said if you think you are able to do it then watch it. if it becomes too much you can always turn it off and try again later. it has been for us almost 13 yrs. next month since I lost my granddaughter. she was my world. I think by far it is the hardest thing anyone can go thru. if you need to talk hon just let me know.

rhapsodymy father died at 45 and he was the most important person to me in the whole world. we have put our family films of him on cd. it took me a while before i could watch them but now it brings back such wonderful memories of him when i watch it. i think your idea is a beautiful thing.
