I started coughing on Tues. night it got worse on Wed. and then realy bad on thurs. So Fri. I went to the urgent care clinic at my local hospital (like and emerg but for less serious things so you're usually seen faster). They put me in a mask and isolation right away, and did chest x-rays. It turns out I have a nasty case of pneumonia. They also tested me for regular flu and for swine flu. But it'll be a few days before I hear back from public health on the results of those tests.
so in the meantime, I'm on a megadose antibiotic and been ordered to force as much liquid as possible. I'll be off work until at least Wed., and possibly all next week. I feel really horrible, I'm coughing like crazy and I keep alternating between having these spiking fevers and then my temperature coming down and me breaking into a massive sweat. I had to change my sheets twice last night. Could use hugs. And I really hope nobody else out there gets this, as I wouldn't wish how I feel on my worst enemy. --splitimage |

I too, hope you get well.
Don't rush your recovery, as I did that last April, with pneumonia. I was in hosp for 2 weeks, got out, went back to usual scheduled things, and ended up back in with double and heart involvement and pleural effusion. Spent most of the month in there till I got my lungs clear. You might take levoquin or whatever they give you, maybe a steroid if they need the anti-inflammatory action, and lots of liquids. Stay warm and in bedland, and when up tp it, take walks around the house and property every few hours to get the lungs moving the stuff along... clearing. But watch out for people and kids ~ you are vulnerable at this time, so wash your hands more than alot, and make others who come into your abode, for sure. okay, I'm through bossing you around, lol. I hope you get well soon, and rest enough to let your body recover... that's when the healing happens, when we are relaxed and in rest mode. Peace and Recovery, Night xoxoxo ![]() |
