My family barely understand all my ailments now -
so how do I explain to them this CFS thing?
and have them accept that mommy / wife / auntie will mostly likely sleep a lot.

I'm so sorry you have these problems, Rhap. I have CF & Fibro and my family and some of my friends don't understand. Just do what you can as you can and rest when you can. If you know you have something coming up, try to rest before and after.

Thanks Jan..... the only problem is that I dont feel like doing "anything" with out the physical energy part - my body seems to need 12 hours of sleep just to function on a lvl one (bath & slightly clean the house) and then I am tired again with in 3 hours..... LIFE SUCKS!!

It does SUCK

the sleeping sounds like deep depression
plus physical ailments

As for chore etc. of course don't let them go to long,

But when you get up do chores first - then lay down again....

you'll feel better getting a little bit done

I so understand sleeping 12 hours at a time and waking up just as exhausted as I was before I went to sleep. Give yourself some time after you get up to get through the fibro fog. Maybe drink an extra cup of tea and just sort of relax.

I have discovered that if I clean in small spurts, it works better. As odd as it sounds, I'll turn on the tv and clean during the commercials. That way I can rest for a little while before the next commercial.

Can you get your family to help you? Household chores aren't going to hurt them.

Understand, (and I still have problems with this personally), that you are not lazy. You have not given up on life. You are a good and worthy person. Your body just isn't cooperating; not that wonderful being that is you.
