This is related to the healthy eating thread. Chocolate Soy Milk by Silk....is....WONDERFUL! It's nice and smooth and chocolaty, and one glass gives a bit of a full feeling, and helps take the edge off the sweet craving. Another idea I had but haven't tried is getting some sugarfree/fatfree vanilla ice cream (boring i know) and blend it with the chocolate soy milk. Feels like a treat but not sooo bad for you!

The chocolate milk sounds interesting, Rayna... I'm not sure if that brand is sold here, but I imagine the milk will be available somewhere.

Just be sure and get the soy milk. The soy is very good for us. It is especially good for perimenopasal women. Studies have shown that women with plenty of soy in their diet have an easier time with menopause or even later menopause. It also helps with menstruation symptoms. Very good stuff.

If you're looking for some food-that's-not-food, try protein drinks. They are perfect for breakfast with a bit of fruit, or for a mid-afternoon snack, or after exercise. Makes you feel full, gives you most of the protein you need, and girls, if you get the women's formula, they have a lot of calcium in them so they're extra-good for you.

I get a gorgeous chocolate one by Horleys (called Sculpt) but I don't know what brands are available overseas. For me it's a chocolate fix too.

I hope you are all eating breakfast (something low-GI such as grainy bread) cos if you don't your metabolism will be pretty messed up ... and cut out carbs after about 4pm as much as possible cos your body doesn't process them as well (you're not as active). So it's fine to have sushi for lunch, but not for dinner!

Best dinner is something like a grilled piece of chicken or fish or steak with salad or vegetables. I am mainly vegetarian (except for seafood) so I tend to have fish and steamed spinach (excellent for your iron levels) and maybe roast some capsicum and corgettes or have a salad. If I am feeling a bit naughty I will make a little pizza on pita bread with pesto, roast veges, and feta. Feta is a reasonably good cheese cos it's lower fat than many other varieties, and of course you need your protein!

ok i'll stop babbling now ... i have super-fit gym-going fitness freak flatmates, so I've learnt a lot about good eating lately Chocolate Soy Milk!

Most of us could do with losing a few pounds Chocolate Soy Milk! My jeans are tighter than they should be at the moment, but I'm getting there ...
