well? She thought she had someone who, because I eat out for food, was a junk food junkie... wrong. She found out I eat sensibly... and only had a few clues for me... all in all she is pleased with my choices.
I am curious and now decidedly confused because she said I wasn't eating enough, but that my portion control was exactly what it should be to be 170 lbs (probably an ideal weight for my height.) SO???? Anyway, I didn't remember that you can freeze yogurt, so I'll do that... and also frozen fruit. Seems you need fruit to release the iron in oatmeal. Anyway, the idea of using frozen foods is good because for me, Out of sight, out of mind... and they spoil in frig... I'm into the freezer for ice packs and ice for massages all the time. She was very nice, but a lamb chop short of a mixed grill, if you know what I mean. (Two sandwiches short of a picnic?) I had to repeat myself several times, and made it a point to say, "As I just told you...." FINALLY she began to listen and I didn't have to repeat. Guess she had a mind-set that an ignorant pleab was in her presence... and had to realize I've been doing this a long time! Oh another (the 3rd) good idea was to try CHILDREN'S CHEWABLE Vitamins... since my body doesn't break down regular ones... I can try this... but even when I'm low on potassium and eat a bunch (literally) of bananas a day, my body doesn't assimilate the potassium from the bananas and help me! So that's what I have: Eat more food. ? But portion control is fine. ? Add frozen fruit, yogurt, and children's vitamins. She still doesn't believe I drink as much water as I said, but that's her problem. She could ask the waiters, my friend, even my dog to prove it, but duh... I wasn't arguing with her, I know how much water I drink and she doesn't. I think she was disappointed that I wasn't a junk food junkie. ![]()

Ha!
Why'd you go see a nutritionist, if I may ask? Overall, do you think it'll be worth it?

I'm anemic. Hemoglobin runs between 8.6 and 9.4 I can't take iron pills. I have tmd which always limited what I can try to chew, and even so I usually ended up swallowing most of food... and for several years my teeth have been ground down to less than half heigth contributing to not being able to chew. (And the anemia contributes to the grinding, also...)
Now that I have veneers (by Monday finished?) and full size teeth... I can try to chew (the tmj's should be better set also) and I need to alleviate some of the anemia at least to reduce the bruxism, and keep from wearing the veneers down soon. Sigh. I was looking positively towards her suggestions. I went into store to buy children'schewable vitamins.. with minerals she said. HUH? I can't take iron in pill form...body rebels strongly. Ok, so then I found a chewable with some minerals but no iron, kewl. Then I read the listing... it has soy. (allergy) So I move on... nope all have iron, no minerals or some additive I can't take. VITAMINS FOR TEENS OKAY! gummy chews.. well can't do that but they would have to dissolve eventually, right? OMG 4 gms of sugar each and a teen needs 2 a day! (I'm not a teen either but..) I'm not taking 2 teaspoonsful of sugar for anyone in a vitamin... anyway... I never found, in that store, anything that will work for me. I will try a nutrition store next. gotta be some way... sigh.

Take a look at the Pre-Vites here Puritan's Pride childrens
This is where I buy my vitamins. They are also really good at answering questions via email. emmy |

Yes I have to try that too... I used to buy from Puritan's pride, as their products really are "pure."
I asked the pharmacist in the grocery store today (see? I am trying... actually bought the dog food, yogurt, oatmeal and frozen fruit.) and he said I would have to go to a nutrition store, something like nutrismart. I ran into another ingredient they put into vitamins: phenylalanine! Can't have that either. sheesh. I am beginning to remember why I don't take vitamins...

argh!
My dad takes about 15 vitamins a day, because he can't find a single multivitamin that contains what he needs but omits what he can't have. Gets expensive that way. What about (sounds weird but) some of the fortified energy drinks or baby formulas?

At least I have added fruit to my diet... but the idea about freezing yogurt and it being "just like ice cream" is not true. sigh. Or it's that I'm not doing that right? hehehe
