I learned a valueable leasoned this weekend. Paper tape and heat don't mix.

I was without my wound vac this weekend when I was in Nebraska for my nephew's graduation and used a wet to dry bandage instead and the nurse gave me paper tape to use to hold the pad on that went over the bandage anyway it was very warm in Nebraska and the paper tape grabbed on and practically became part of my skin. Well when we would go to take the tape off we took part of my skin off. So I have these huge wounds. I am hoping that when the home health nurse comes today that they aren't too angry. It isn't like there was anything we could do about it. We did go to the store and get some cream to rub on the owies. That seems to help some with the pain anyway. I am trying to wean myself off my pain medication as I thought I was taking it too much.

If you have any advice as too what can be done for the pain naturally that would be great because when the home health nurse comes today she is putting me back onto my wound vac and that involves putting a huge piece of plastic tape down.

I have no good suggestions, but OW I am so sorry that happened to you. I hope that you heal soon and quit having to go through all of this.

Can they use medical wrap around tape that is used to hold the cotton ball in place after they take blood in the lab?

Well the home health nurse came today and I asked her what we should do and she said not to put anything on it. She said that I should let it scab over and leave it alone.

The tape that they use to hold my wound vac on covered my owie.
