I went to a chiropractor because I've been dealing w/a lot of lower back pain & tension, and my chiropractor said to me last week, "Wait til you see your x-rays! You have a truly amazing spiralling curve in your spine!" like I am some kind of anatomical art piece...

I saw the x-rays today, and was told that it's mild scoliosis, which could actually get worse - and can't really be fixed because I'm all done growin'. One of my half-sisters has it, too, but hers emerged during her teenage years, and one side of her body is noticeably lower than the other.

I was wondering if anyone around here deals w/it or knows any pain management techniques, or has maybe had success w/yoga or tai chi? The chiro gave me some stretches to start out with, but I'd also like to talk w/someone who's undergoing therapy for the same thing.

Sorry I can't help you directly, hub is the one with scoliosis. He has a family history of it as well.

He has never tried anything else other than a chiropractor and his stretching.

He goes in for adjustments as needed.

Best,

Petunia

I myself would find a good orthopedic dr asap. good to have a second opinion.. I don't know how old you are but my ortho says everyone begins to have degenerating disk at a certain age. I have that and some other disk issues going on right now. I really would look into that.

I do have a compressed disk & a pinched nerve from the curvature, and the chiro said he can relieve the pressure w/some adjustments... I've noticed that I do slump to that side quite a bit, unconsciously. I just sort of lean on my left arm. I'm going to ask if there's any kind of braces that can help me correct my posture when I go in on Weds.
