I have had a battle with heat exhaustion this week. The southern US has been under a heat advisory. It never occurred to me that I would be at risk since I work in an office. After a visit to the doctor this week, I found out that going in and out of cool air into the heat is dangerous. I was just running errands but the getting in and out of my vehicle and different businesses got to me. The meds that I am on also contributed to the heat exhaustion. The only thing you can do is take plenty of fluids and stay cool. Just wanted everyone to be careful when dealing with the heat.

Thank you for this reminder. I used to live in the south w/ A/C. I miss it. My meds too make me prone to heat exhaustion and have moved north where I no longer have A/C but could use it once in awhile. A couple of weeks ago was brutal in the mid 90's and some this week too w/o A/C and living on the 3rd floor. Have to be careful. I try to spend those days running errands purposefully in the car since it does have A/C.

Thanks for the replies. It is difficult to handle the heat with the medications we have to take.

Crew, it must scare people when you turn bluish/purplish. I know I personally turn real red when extremely hot.

Everyone please take care of yourselves in this heat.

Yes, where I live near Baltimore is where Baltimore's smog blows so has really bad air quality and I have asthma. That and the heat are doing a number on me too.

The heat wave we're having is driving me around the bend, plus we have really high humidity and bad smog. It's a 20 min walk to my bus stop and that just about kills me. The meds don't help either. I don't have A/C either but I do have a big fan. But seriously, I can't wait for fall.

Ya'll take care of yourselves. I don't have to deal with smog, so I can't imagine having to deal with that and the heat.

The heat is unbearable here too.. the other day it was 45c (I think that's around 110f) with the humidity. We also get a lot of smog which makes it even worse. My asthma has been so bad this summer and I've been having to take my inhaler several times a day. I soooo can't wait for fall! I hate this heat!!
