I have some today and normally would take imodium but my mom has it with her. So I need some natural remedies. I have some fruit and veggies. I also have fiber but know that can make it worse sometimes. I will welcome anything. I took some pain pills because my incision point is hurting today and I also know that can help too.

Thanks in advance.

Hey jbug,

Rice, pasta, bananas, white bread. Potatoes can be done. Make them plain ~ no butter, sauces or herbs. Other than that, stay away from the fruits and veggies for today ~ they're quicker and easier to digest than the starches, which adds to the outflow.

Oh yeah ~ I stay away from Immodium. You may have a tummy bug, which means the stool has to come out one way or another. My ER doc advised me to never do the Immodium, because that brought on relentless vomiting.

The BRAT diet is recommended for most diarrhea problems - stands for bananas, white plain rice, apple sauce and black tea...good constipators lol. Cheese is also constipating but not if you're lactose intolerant. You may also need a boost of friendly bacteria (acidolpholis) - you can buy it in the vitamin section or eat yogurt.

It finally went away on it's own. I continued to snack on corn tortilla chips I would cut up corn toritillas and bake them in the oven with a little EVOO and salt. I also drank apple juice which I later found out could cause diarhea. Oh well you live and learn. I also drank Diet Mt Dew and sweet tea (can you tell I live in the south?)
