If you dont mind.. keep me in your thoughts. I have cellulitis again . And its worse than it was 3 weeks ago. Its extremely painful and with it being a bad infection, I cant do much at all. It started Friday night with chills and now I am still carrying a fever, the area is fire red with bumps of infection pockets which some are oozing. I went to the doctor today and he was going to put me in the hospital. He wanted to speak with an infection speciaist. The specialist thought we could do the tests that needed to be done as an outpatient. So I got that done. They also started me on antibioticsand I also have a special soap that I have to use everyday. Its used for staph infections. So I guess they are thinking that is what this is. I am relieved that I didnt have to go to the hospital. But I also know that if it gets worse and or, the test results show something up that I need to go to the hospital for I have to go. I am so sick of being sick all the time. It wears me down. I am tired of not having any energy .And I am scared with this cellulitis that if treatment doesnt help it will turn into gangreen. This fear is very real cause I saw my mom go thru it and had to have 2 toes amputated.

Just asking for your thoughts if you dont mind. Thanks so much.

Hugz~
Beth

You are in my thoughts and certainly in my prayers. If they want you to go in the hospital, don't fight it. You need rest and maybe IV antibiotics. Please take good care of you.

Hugs,

Jan

Fuzzy~ thank you , your so sweet! I appreciate the hugz

Angie & the Girls and Papa~ That is so kind of you. I so appreciate that! you guys are so kind!

Jan~Hon I was willing to go when doctor suggested it. Just that the specialist and him talked it over and came up with this plan. Dont worry I wont fight it.Like I said the IV AB's might happen yet . Depending on what the culture shows. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers also.

Hi.

I am so sorry you are going thru this. My Dad had to have part of his left leg amputated becuz of the same thing. It's often so tuff to treat. It really did a number on his emotions. I will never forget.

He was a career police officer. And a darn good one.

Keep us posted on this!

Hi Sweetie,
Keep your head up but for the love of the God, be proactive in your treatment. I had what I thought was cellulitis last year. . .it turned out to be MRSA (a form of Staph) You might need Vancomycin, which is an IV med. Be very VERY careful. . .it is very contagious. I will be praying for you. . .let us know how it turns out.

Bethy,

I haven't been here too much lately & didn't check in on all the forums. I just saw this post of yours & am hoping you are doing better now. I am glad your tests came out good & don't have the need to be hospitalized. I hope your cellulitus is being taken care of by the meds they have you on.....I know how bad this can be.

It may sound silly but sometimes when I am really sick & it runs me down to being exhausted besides being sick, the hospital is often the only place where I can actually rest, be taken care of & only then finally get the strength to get better.

I am thinking about you & wondering how things are going....& sorry I didn't see that you were having these problems before now.

Take care of you.....& hope you are improving,
Love ya,
Debbie

Tryin2bme - We live in the country and have coral snakes, giant spiders and every other bug you can imagine (Florida!). I have gotten bit during my sleep by these HUGE "wood spiders" a number of times and ended up with Cellulitis so I can relate!. It can even get in your system and poison your blood but thankfully there are good antibiotics to treat this. I know it's no fun and miserable to have but hang in there ok?. If you need to talk just PM me. I wish you a SPEEDY recovery!!

- Regards, GreyGoose
