I have been so light headed today. If I sit up or stand up I get so light headed I feel like I am going to pass out. Tonight I was outside with my neighbor and friends smoking and was in my doorway and we were talking about Tyger and all of a sudden Jarin said are you okay? I said I think I need some help can you get my chair? I have a chair by my front door that I usually sit in and she got her friends to help me stand while the other friend grabbed my chair and they helped me sit down. I think if they hadn't been there I would have passed out. I was then later about maybe 30 minutes making me a snack and the same sensation came over me so I quick grabbed a kitchen chair and sat down while I finished making my snack.
Do you think this could just be related to me having a cold and me taking my Dayquil and Nyquil? I plan on mentioning it to the doctor when I go tomorrow but was wondering if you guys had any other ideas as to what it could be. Jan

I'm thinking low blood pressure or sugar levels.
Can you get a blood pressure monitor and check every hour or so, especially when you feel light-headed. I occassionally get this too.

Yes, sounds like the Dayquil/Nyquil (and smoking combo) and maybe being dehydrated.
Common side effects: "Dizziness; excitability; headache; nausea; nervousness or anxiety; trouble sleeping; weakness." From: http://www.drugs.com/sfx/dayquil-side-effects.html

Watch your nutrition and blood pressure/blood sugar levels, as mentioned above. If you have been taking quite a bit of cold meds and not eating much, this could contribute. Being in bed can make you feel weak and perhaps light-headed. See your doc if this persists.

It could be because of the cold but....have you had any medication changes lately? Like a mood stablizer or something? I had this problem for many months and my doctor ran every medical test he could think of and even put me in the hospital...turns out it was the Geodon I started taking back in February! As soon as I stopped taking it, I returned to normal.
