So, I moved a couple of days ago, and I had to lift some pretty heavy stuff. Now, my feet and legs are swollen pretty bad, and they are throbbing like crazy. I wasn't having any problem at all immediately after I moved all this stuff. It just started this morning. My hands are even swollen a little, too. I've never had this happen before, and I've helped others move and lifted heavy things with no problem at all. My hubby said it even looks like my knees are puffy. I'm having some pain, too. I'm not sure if I should go to the hospital or not... anyone else know anything about this kinda thing?

hmm MP did you happen to also begin drinking different water or something at the same time? Someone else cook for you? It sounds more like a real increase in sodium/salt, imo. But if you really taxed your joints, yes, they can swell... it's from the body trying to heal the "injured" areas.. common in arthritis... ice and elevation, plenty of water too helps (no kidding) Can you take some ibuprofen? I think you need your spouse to wait hand and foot on you too Swelling?

Thanks (((Sky))) and (((Pat))) !! I've been on the sofa with my feet propped up most of the day. Right now I am sitting here on the sofa with my puter in my lap, some ibuprofen and water waiting for me, and my doggy right beside me. My feet and legs are still pretty swollen though. If it's not better in awhile I am going to the hsopital. Hopefully it will be better!! ::fingers crossed::

Yeah they have been higher than my head most of the day. I was just sitting up for a few minutes when I posted that. It looks like they're going down some now. woo hoo!

Glad to hear that the swelling is gong down. It was probally a simple case of water retnetion. I am not sure where u are from, but this time of year here in ND my body tends to retain water alot because it is soo cold out that I don't sweat and when I am inside it is hot so then I am drining more than I am putting out.

Hope u are back to "normal" soon.

Thanks a bunch, Dar! I'm from Tennessee, so it's not cold here at all yet. It was 75 degrees today. Maybe it just had something to do with me moving all that stuff. I dunno really. But I am starting to feel better.. thanks again. Swelling?

MP...please be kind to yourself. If the swelling doesn't go down and it has been all day please seek some medical attention.
I care about you...all of you...

Thanks Susan and Sky Swelling? I am, indeed, doing much better today. The swelling has gone down considerably. It's not completely gone, but nowhere near as bad as it was yesterday! I'm feeling much better! Thanks y'all. Swelling?
