Ok, I've never dealt with this kind of thing before...still only 28 and all that.
I've noticed lately that my legs and feet have been swelling a lot. Sometimes after sitting at the computer for awhile they'll do that. And after propping them up for a time they'll go back to normal. Since it's been getting warmer and warmer, I've noticed this getting worse, though. Like one day I decided to walk to the store (30 min walk). Well, since that day the swelling won't go away no matter how much I elevate my legs. It's going on almost a week, too. Right now my freakin feet hurt so bad from being swollen. I would like to do stuff but my feet are so swollen and it just hurts. Anyone????

Sounds like water retention. Try taking a fluid pill you can get these over the counter like a diuretic. Be prepared to pee like a race horse but that's what my mom does when her feet swell.

The three things that come to my mind are: water retention, arthritis or heart problem.... so YOU know what that means - take a trip to see your Pdoc.

AGE can NEVER be the main factor here....
for I had RA at 12 and HEART problems at 19.... I am almost 39 now. LoVe, Rhapsody - |

Yes, it does sound like fluid retention. I suffer from this a lot, especially when it is hot.
Best to get it checked out though.

Hi Lexi,
Please do go to the Dr and see what's happening for sure. Let us know. Hugs, Jan

You mentioned the long term sitting... and that is more of a problem than most ppl are aware of... get up more often and move around... don't sit with feet cross (or legs) sit on a pillow or cushion, raise your feet up while sitting
another thing is salt intake. If because it's hot you are drinking differently (drinks) check what you're drinking... and another thought, are you eating different foods that contain more salt than you are used to (canned foods, snack foods etc?) Last year when I went to Disneyworld, I had a tropical drink from a kiosk near Italy... by the time I was at "Germany" my feet and ankles had swollen. This had never happened before (nor since) even though I always rent the motor chair. It had to be the drink. TC! Think...you'll figure it out ![]()
