This happens to me a lot, and it is very irritating. Does anyone else get this, or know what causes it?

GeminMD,
YOu wrote,[...(bleph)...quivering...does anyone know...?. There are many causes for what you describe, but there is one cause that could be relevant to your situation if I knew: A. Are you taking a neroleptic drug? If so, I have an extensive body of research that describes the possibility of what you are referring to and it's causes and cures. If you would like, I could offer you support from my perspective. Lou |

I'm not taking any neuroleptic drugs so thats not the cause.
Thanks for the link Petunia. Im sure it is probably one of those things. I don't sleep, drink to much coffee, and am stressed all the time, so it makes sense. ![]()

Hi. I just wanted to say that I have had this pheneomena occur with my eyes since I was a child. I still wonder about it. All of my life, so far, my hands have never stopped shaking either. I cannot hold them out straight without the infernal shaking. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You mean as a kind of tic? If so I get it occasionally, but I've never worked out why.

I get this a lot, for the reasons that Petunia mentioned. Last winter, when I was working lots of hours in another city, I also started getting them in my legs. I called my doctor, worrying if it was the beginning of a blood clot, and that's when he put me on Lexapro. Why Lexapro for a blood clot, you may ask? Well, he said that I keep coming to him with physical results of stress, and that the thought leap from "twitching in my legs" to "OHMYGOD I HAVE A FATAL BLOOD CLOT MOVING TOWARD MY BRAIN" was the final indicator that I needed to get ahold of my stress and anxiety.

I too have the eye quiver and hand shake. My hands only the last 2 years. And eyes, If I can't straighten them out soon I quit! I go into people's houses with poor lighting and can't see a blasted thing and I have to do paperwork? I guess I just answered my own question/problem, bring light in my briefcase. Sorry for the highjack, didn't start that way.

I get the eyelid quivering all the time. Drives me nuts. Sometimes it is a couple minutes before it stops. And, my hands also shake, but just a bit, and not all the time. Sometimes I get those quivers in the palms of my hand....? It is all very weird, but I figure, if it's not going to kill me, I don't care.

It happens to me every now and again. I don't know that it's tied to anything in particular, just one of those weird things that sometimes happens.

I've had the eye lid quiver and it is annoying. My eye doctor said that in my case it was from eye strain. Excessive squinting. I have modified my workstation at work to allow for larger screen graphics and adjusted by seating to reduce eye strain. I haven't had the eye lid quiver for such a long time that I can't remember the last time. One strange thing about my eye lid quiver is that while I felt it and it seemed that my whole eye must be moving ... my husband never noticed any movement unless he got really close to my face and looked intently. So I was glad that others couldn't see it - but it was annoying just the same.
Do you have an eye doctor you see regularly who could check your vision and then you could inquire and find out for sure if eye strain is the likely cause ?? good luck |

I get the eyelid quiver once in a while too. Sometimes one of my fingers will just decide to start twitching as well. I think it's just one of our nervous systems little quirks. I put as much worry into it as hiccups - none.

My eye-doctor told me he thought it would be caused, many times, by caffine. However, It's been a while for me from when I last had eyelid quiver and still have drank alot of coffee lately. So, I don't see the connection. I think stress and possibly a lack of vitamins in the diet could also be a cause. I've ramped up vitamins this year and many physical ailments have stopped. Also have lost 40-lbs as well.
