Has anyone gone through any detox programs? (clarify not the detox programs for drugs/alcohol) and how have they helped.
i have been thinking about it for some time now. i have done my own at home diet change gone to the health food store and talking to the owner about cleanses. i need something a little more than that. and what do people think about colonics i'm still on the fence i have read theres no proven evidence that it does any good and of course theres always poss harm in anything that you do and then i hear wonder stories about it. |

Hi racee, I've looked at detox's and colonics, also. I came to the conclusion that having a colonic wouldn't be much different than the prep one must do before a colonoscopy
![]() As far as the detox's go - I think they may be better at clearing your body of additives, pesticides, etc. - especially if you eat only organic things during your detox. The drawback to this treatment is that as soon as you begin eating other things, your body begins to absorb what you eat and you will eventually have similar things in your system. The only way to do a true detox is to permanently change your eating patterns. Please realize that these are only my opinions. I hope that whatever you decide, it is useful for you. Take care - slow
