I'm over weight, but i always have been.
I have panic attacks, but havent had one for months. Recently i've only been able to take shallow breaths. When i'm falling asleep, i feel myself just stop breathing, then have to wake myself up to breathe again. Its really getting on my nerves. I dont know if its panic attacks? even though i'm not actually panicking or whether its something else?

Ever think of having a sleep study done? I think it would be a good idea.

Hi widgets -
You don't say if there is a history of Asthma in your family or if you have any allergies. Either of these could be part of the problem for you. OurLadysTears also has good advice. You could have Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or it could be reflux from your stomach. I would talk to your doctor to get his ideas. In the meantime, try not eating in the evenings - especially for a couple hours before bedtime and see if that makes any difference for you. I hope you find the cause of your breathing difficulty and start to feel better soon.

Maybe it's Sleep Apnea? Or possibly Asthma?

Is this still the case? I see you HAVE logged on in the past couple of days, but no longer being able to take a deep breath, when you could before, isn't great. Was it very hot out when you wrote this? Are you staying PROPERLY hydrated, whatever that is for your particular health circumstances? (When my mom had kidney issues, I first learned the differences about this.) Please let us or a medical someone know how you are doing now? Take care!
