This will sound strange... and I hope I can describe it well enough. But when I was a kid, whenever I closed my eyes I would see movements, dark of course, but it was as if I was traveling through a nebula or vortex in space, with dark clouds and matter passing by, and stars in the distance. And also, when it was dark in the room, I could see movements too. Like the dots I think is normal to see, like picture "noise" if anyone knows what that is. When I was around 3 or 4 years old, I remember I was afraid at night because I would see things move around ( not objects, but.. blotches), so I slept in my mom's bed one night. Well that night I saw two spinning circles that not only spun themselves, but were spinning around the room, above me. They would sometimes go low enough to touch me, and when they did, it hurt my legs. Sorry that this sounds so weird!! I had other times where I saw the spinning things in my childhood too. But now, I can't see any of that. Well, sometimes I see some movement when closing my eyes but nothing like how it used to be. And nothing in the dark. Maybe it has to do with children's eyes developing?? Anyone ever experience anything close to this at all?
![]() Best graphic for what it sometimes looked like when closing my eyes. I googled it, and wikipedia said its a Closed-Eye Hallucination , also called a Closed-Eye Visualization ![]()

It doesn't sound strange to me, but I am a little off. haha! I get migraines where I see light and flashes which i thought was strange but it just happens so I make the best of it. Thought it would be cool if I could draw what I was seeing. google seemed to have a pretty good explanation, any way sounds good to me. I would not worry to much about it. take care gma45

If my blood sugar goes down, I see spots and stuff in my vision. I have, in the past,
seen stars and such, but think it had to do with blood sugar also. It was low at the time. bj

It doesn't sound weird to me either. Although that's never happened to me, something kind of similar has. I always have trouble sleeping. And most nights I'm laying down looking around my room in the dark. I always get paranoid because I always see figures moving. They look like people or the shadow of a person. And sometimes I even hear voices. This is why I always cover my head with covers at night. So I don't get scared and see the figures. I also can sometimes sense the presence of a person or something. And I'd always sense that something is coming towards me. One time I felt something touch my leg. I was terrified!

I have that all the time! I even see it when my eyes are open if it's dark enough around me.

for some its called visual hallucinations for others its called optical illusions /mind playing tricks... example of the last two look at a black dot with a white or red background for a few seconds. then turn your head off of the black dot on a background. you will see the black dot and background again but it will be in different colors other than black/white or black/red. this is the normal way the brain works.. it commits everything you see to memory so that even if the object seen isnt right there your brain can reconstitute that object for you. for some people this brain activity happens more than others. its completely normal regardless of how often it happens. just the way the brain works in some people. if its a hallucination - there are many causes for it - mental disorders, medication reactions, physical health problems. only a treatment provider can tell you which the problem is in you and how best to make it stop. for me the problem is usually things like sleep deprivation, optical illusions, medication problems and on rare occasions its because of the psychotic symptoms with my having bipolar disorder, sometimes it is because of my having migraines.. and other reasons. my suggestion contact your treatment provider. the solution may be as simple as a change of meds or dosage, or adding medication. |
