So, I have the most horrible kidney infection EVER. I went to the doctor a couple of days ago for some med refills and she told me I have a kidney infection... she said drink lots and lots of water, and if I get really bad to call her back. Well I started feeling worse, so I called her back. The office is closed today, so she said if I get to feeling too bad to go to the ER. And I am feeling SO bad, but I don't know if it's bad enough to go to the ER. blahhhh It hurts to even let anything touch my lower back. I have a fever of about 102, and I feel like I am gonna vomit. Arggggggg... Kidney Infection.... I've only had one other kidney infection before, so I am not sure if this is "normal" with one... or if I should go to the ER. Anyone??

I'm not sure, but I would go to the ER. Thinking of you and hoping you feel better really soon!

I would say go get it sorted. Ive just got over a kidney infection. OMG it was awful, two courses of antibiotics to get rid of it. My back was sore and trying to go to the loo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your doc should have given you something there and then cos Kidney infections can be dangerous. If you can go to ER i would. Its so painful and uncomfortable I wouldnt imagine you could wait very much longer.

In the mean time drink lots of water and cranberry juice, it really does make it a bit easier.

Take care

Thanks (((((Fuzzy))))) and (((ATG)))...
The doc did give me some antibiotics. But I am still not feeling well.(I know antibiotics aren't going to take the pain away right this very moment or anything like that though) My sister came over a minute ago to take me to get some errands done, but I just didn't have the energy to go. She's going to do them for me. Arggggggg... Kidney Infection....

I'm gonna wait a couple more hours and see what happens. I'm definitely going before the day is over though... if I don't feel any better..

Thanks y'all. Arggggggg... Kidney Infection....

MP go straight to the ER !!!!!

You could have acute nephritis which is VERY VERY
dangerous, takes only days to kill.

You might have kidney stones.

Have you tried cranberry juice? It is supposed to help (I think).

I'm back from the hospital. I have acute pyelonephritis ... which is a bad kidney/urinary tract infection. I got some stronger antibiotics and some pain medication. He also gave me something to help with the vomiting. My temperature was hitting close to 104! I didn't know it was THAT high. I'm glad I went. The doctor there said I should start to feel at least a little better by tomorrow, and he told me to follow up with my regular doctor in a couple of days. I had a kidney infection a few years ago and had to be hospitalized for it... I'm really glad I didn't wait that long with this one!! But the doc said I still waited too long.. LOL. Oh well.. at least now I know. Thanks guys. Arggggggg... Kidney Infection....

((((backandforth)))) Arggggggg... Kidney Infection.... Arggggggg... Kidney Infection.... Arggggggg... Kidney Infection.... heheheh!
I'm feeling a bit better today! Thanks.. Oh, and I looked to see what causes a kidney infection, and this is what I found. "Germs from the bladder can travel up the tubes (ureters) that lead to the kidneys, take up residence, and multiply." And, TA-DA!... a kidney infection. Arggggggg... Kidney Infection.... I'll be completely over this before very much longer... Arggggggg... Kidney Infection....
