Last November, I kept feeling like I was going to pass out, and at one point I actually did.
I was on a cardiac event monitor for a while, but everything was normal. No more testing was done.
Last week, I passed out while driving and caused an accident. I had a ct scan, an eeg, an ekg and heart monitoring for a couple of days. All were normal.
I am really concerned because nobody can figure anything out. I don't know if it is safe for me to drive. I just want to know what's going on with me.

Has anyone ever dealt with or heard about anybody passing out without doctors being able to figure out why?

didn't you just start that new v- med? is it a side effect? or a rare side effect of your particular combination of meds? ie has it been reported to the v-company, and are there any other such incidents? when a med is relatively new, I think there is more requirement and effort to keep people informed.

I started viibryd in june.

I've had so many side effects to so many different meds that I don't know whats normal anymore.

Normal stuff I experience most days:
nausea - anywhere from just a little, to a LOT
headaches - again, small headaches to nasty bad (i haven't had a migraine lately, but used to get them quite frequently, with aura)
pressure behind my eyes - always there, have had my eyes checked, they are normal

and occasionally, I feel kind of spacy... kind of like I am floating, just a really weird hard to describe feeling.

So really, I don't have a normal anymore. I just wish I knew what was going on. I have been on at least 30 meds/combinations of meds in the last 4 or so years, so for all I know, it could be caused by any one of those that I have been on.

I saw my doctor today. They are not going to do anymore tests because it is hasn't happened enough to warrant more testing. They say I am safe to drive... God only knows at this point.

Funny though that my regular doctor was amazed and somewhat unhappy about a combination of meds that I had been on due to some side effects that the combo can cause. I had side effects, but never equated it to the combo of meds... odd

The computers are supposed to check that at the pharmacy, and really the docs should check before they prescribe. I think with newer meds like viibryd, info can be coming in daily. there is a side effect of fainting from the viibryd. I don't know if it is one of those that have to build up in your system, do you start off at a lower dose. I am just surprised no one is looking at the last med added - to me, that would be the obvious place to start. but maybe they felt enough time had already passed that you were on it - like it should have happened in the first 6 weeks, like getting glaucoma from topamax. let me know if I can do anything to help.

The whole med situation seems odd. Viibryd I have been on 40mg since mid july, along wiht lamictal 400mg and ambien cr 12.5 mgs. Then I have gone back and forth with several other meds for sleep in the last few weeks... It's all a giant mess

Yeah, sounds like meds might be doing an occasional number on you; low blood pressure and all that. Something like that might not leave any trace.

Yes. I apparently did not pass out, but several years ago I walked to a local grocery store and the next thing I knew I was in the hospital. People said I had been acting strange, not responding, so they called the ambulance. Doctor named it something like "global amnesia" and said that it happens sometimes, and they don't know why. I never regained any memories of what happened in the missing time. I asked my doctor what would have happened if I had been driving, and he said I would have known enough to control the car, but, I don't know about that!

Since then I have wondered if it could have been due to an electrolyte imbalance or deficiency. Those things affect the state of consciousness...

have you had your blood sugar tested? maybe you are having sugar drops and causing the passing out.

I do ambien, but not CR. I don't trust cr's! Any chance that hit you? How many hours is that good for, ie when does the last "ring" release? Maybe double check that timeline for the day of the accident? maybe taking something else, like your morning med, "boosted" what was left of the ambien? at least that would give you peace of mind as to why.

Could be caused by some medication. Sometimes your blood pressure can drop suddenly when you stand up or move quickly. It's not good at all and if a med is causing it, I wouldn't take it anymore.
