Hi everyone,
I tweaked my shoulder yesterday during my workout without realizing it, and just started feeling it today. I decided to go ahead and exercise today as well, and later (foolishly) tried to play a video game that requires lots of arm/shoulder movement, and had to stop pretty quickly. I have heard that with some injuries, it's actually good to use the injured area. Should I be performing exercises of any sort to overcome the pain? Or should I be trying to use my shoulder as little as possible? Unfortunately, the injury is on my right side, which is the arm I use for everything. ![]() Has anyone else experienced a shoulder injury? What helped you? Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you! |

I haven't had a shoulder injury but my daughter just did. She was jumping off a porch for fun and one jump went bad. She hit shoulder first on the cold, solid ground.
She complained that it hurt to move her arm and had tingling in her fingers. I took her to an urgent care where they took three xrays; nothing broken or fractured. The doc just said have her take it easy for a few days. They didn't sling it either. He said she could use it but don't over do it. And to apply heat or ice and OTC pain meds. |

Rest is best until no longer painful. Then light stretches working back into regular exercises.
