I'm feeling so overwhelmed right now and having a difficult time adjusting to my health conditions and restrictions. my doctor had recently told me that I'm not allowed to drive because of my seizures. I've always been an independent person and not having to depend on others for something as simple as going down the street to Target. I've been diagnosed with partial complex seizures and having to take so many different types of medications and vitamins. I'm taking 300mg gabapentin, 250mg keppra, 10 lexapro, 1mg folic acid and when i need to I could take 2mg of lorazepam. I'm having a hard time trying to distract my mind from having to think too much of my medical condition and having an easy access to the outside world is hard. I'm just feeling so overwhelmed and scared.

I am sorry about your medical problems. And being housebound has got to be driving you crazy!!

Were you recently diagnosed with your seizure disorder? My daughter was diagnosed with complex partial seizures as a preteen. She could not drive until her seizures were well controlled with medication.

She received her license when she was 17 1/2. Her one restriction though, was that she needed to carry a medical card. The card needs to be renewed every 6 months and that requires an exam by her neurologist .......we've become like family.

Anyway.......until you may be able to drive again.....is there public transportation in your area? Or do you have access to something in our area called "dial a ride"? With this service your are able call and arrange transportation through a county run program, more in the rural areas I think.

I hope you can get your seizures controlled quickly and that you can become independant once again!!!! Meanwhile........don't be afraid to ask for help...I am sure you will be able to repay favor one day!
