Why is it that when I get a sinus infection I crave dairy products? All I want is cheese, milk, ice cream and yogurt. I know these things well except for the ice cream is good for me but its getting ridiculus. I just raided my mom's cheese stash for a piece of cheese. I hope she's not mad. She was a bit mad when I ate her last package of cheese. I guess I just need to buy some more for my house.

Wow Jannie, I've never heard of that one before! Why is it? I would think milk especially would be bad for a sinus infection -- doesn't it just promote making mucus? (ewwww, I know, and I'm probably wrong anyway).

I've needed to go to the store for a couple of days now, and one of the things I need is cheese, and now after reading this, I'm craving it too! LOL I might just have to put my shoes back on and go back out!

I hope you feel better soon.

Hmmmm MY PT just told me to get soda crackers and cheese to counter a similar problem. go figure. That's a good question, buggie. Let me know if you find anything connecting the two.

Nope, thats what I was told by the pharmacist... I do hope she was right, since I avoided dairy products while sick, and it makes me sad since I craved them too!!

I hope you feel better soon, having any sort of ickiness isn't fun!!

Get some sleep and I hope you feel a lot better sooner rather than later!! Why is it?

I don't "crave" them but choose to eat these type of things because they are basically foods I can put in mouth and swallow with very little chewing. With clogged, stuffy sinuses having to eat a normal meal feels like I am smothering since when sinuses are clogged stuffy and so on the only way to breath is through the mouth. The more chewing time the less I am breathing since mouth is closed and sinus clogged and stuffy. The easier the food the more I can breath.
