Recently (past 2-3 months) i've been getting extremely sharp pain shooting through my head, usually top left or temple. It kinda feels like a cramp, but i don't think it's possible for a brain to cramp. it happens every couple of days, and it's really incapacitating when it happens. sometimes it happens more than once a day.
I was researching, and stumbled upon a concept called 'icepick headaches'. does anyone know if i might have this or not? or could enlighten me or what exactly is wrong with me? Oh, and it started not long after i ran into someone full speed with my neck half tilted while playing field hockey. my neck was quite painful for about 72 hours and still aches slightly when i tilt it backwards too far. |

I'm sorry you're getting this terrible pain. I think you should explain this to your doctor and mention the collision you had during hockey. Maybe its from the neck injury or perhaps you had a concussion. My daughter used to be in Karate but we both decided it wasn't worth the risk of head injury. Did you know that repeated concussions can have an accumulative affect and cause psychological problems - especially anger and emotional problems. Get this thoroughly investigated and I hope you feel better soon.
