I had been having pain in my upper abdomen. Was having nausea and vomiting everytime I ate. A lot of belching, too. I went to my family doctor and he did a test for H. Pylori. It came back positive so he gave me 2 antibiotics and prilosec. After the 2 weeks on the antibiotics, still having the symptoms but no H. Pylori. He sent me to a GI doc. They ran a scope into my stomach. I had been on a no food or drink diet since midnight, but they found a large amount of food in my stomach. My stomach digest at a really slow rate. 10 hours and still had food in there. Supposedly your stomach digests at most 3 hours after you eat. Now I am on a really strict diet. No fried foods, no fatty foods, no pasta or rice(my stomach doesn't do well with these), no fruits or vegetables with skin on it, and no raw vegetables. This diest is good for my cholesterol, but is not making me happy. There are very few veggies left I can eat. I loved veggies. I still have nausea and vomiting even following the diet. My stomach will get hard and feel like there is a ball of lead in there even following the diet. There is not lot to do for it right now.

That sounds really uncomfortable! Any indication what caused it? They checked for diabetes didn't they and reviewed any medications you take?

I hope they did labs to check for pancreatitis, too.
I sure hope you soon feel much better! ![]() |

They did all labs. Checked for diabetes, it was good. They said meds wouldn't cause this. Just unexplained. It is uncomfortable. The worst is I can't eat my veggies. I have tried, it just hurts too bad, and I despise vomiting.
