After I had my son I got an IUd, since then my periods have been fairly on time, but heavy and lasting 6 to 8 days. I also spot very lightly during ovulation. All which my dr said was normal with my IUd when I went last.

But the past couple of months I have been getting my period a few days early, and after lasting 7 to 8 days it will go away only to come back a week later, not as heavy, but definitely not spotting. It will last for about 3 or 4 days. Then I will get it again, a few days early. So pretty much I have my period, along with all symptoms (mood swings, cramps, fatigue, ect) 2 weeks out of the month!

Anyone know what can cause this??

It sounds similar to adenomyosis, which I had about 15 years ago. I had a hysterectomy, and that took care of everything. But up until then I was miserable! I hope you go to a good OB/GYN and have them check you out.

Please get it checked out to be safe and by a good ob/gyn as suggested above rather than just your usual doctor

I agree -- best to have a Gyn check it out. Having 2 periods a month isn't normal, and you could become anemic besides.

So get it checked out before it gets too bad. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee
