(I put a heart because i am realy trying to feel hopeful & loving instead of upset scared & hopeless ;_

When I was a very young child, during potty training years I held in poop (reckon this was because i was a 'very sensitive child'; I had a case of seperation anxiety, nervous disposition/tendencies, & I picked up negative emotions easily & negative emotions were aplenty when I was younger..) so from age of about 5-10 I had impactions etc and had to take laxatives (always osmotic ones, 'Syrup of Figs' or 'Ortisan Fruit Cubes', thank the Lord I never took Senna/Senakot...heard it's very bad for long term use).

When I was at school I was bullied also was bullied in secondary school yadayadayada been there done that over now never had a boyfriend (not even now) had bad relationships with guys when I got to 16*never really had any 'friends', didn't get on with family because I reckon (so they told me all the time anyway) I stressed them out and 'made' them smoke and drink. Not the worst case life so far by a long shot but bad enough for me to FINALLY ASK FOR SOME ******* HELP after 2 major suicide attempts at 14 and 16 and self harming throughout the ages 11-17:/

Iv never drank properly (only managing about 1-2 glasses a day if that!!!) or eaten properly (either compulsively-nibbling at the wrong types of food-particualrly biscuits or having little appetite at all:/) It's a lot better now looking back, I eat healthily but atm due to college stress I'm back in a rut and my bowel is playing up-I have gone from going almost every day to not being able to go at all for nearly 4 days!!! (Cancer?? Is there something wrong??). I'm at college doing something I have little interest in. I can't do my first choice as it's not available now and I wanted to do a-levels but travel costs are issue and I have no job (due to depression-not being able to 'get up' in the mornings very well/at all) so I'm doing something I couldn't care less about and theres nothing I can do about it...

I started smoking but stopped that because couldn't be bothered. I've split from a potential boyfriend about 2 months ago, he's now got a new gf and I am by myself again thanks to me. I've done/said some terrible things and I live a life of regret and low mood. Having a bowel problem also upsets and creates anxiety in me. I don't know whats going to happen with it the doctors won't help me they don't care? I believe in conspiracies and had a breakdown a few months ago after my split with bf.

*16 I got with a 25 year old man...

Lost and very alone. I keep pushing people away. They will only find me and what i've got disgusting. (I did use to poo myself from 5-14after all).

Have you tried suppositories? They are gentle, if you get the right kind. I use Bisacodyl suppositories, and they are VERY gentle and work within a very short time. You wouldn't want to go anywhere after using it. LOL

Do NOT use them every day. I would wait until you haven't gone for 3 days or so, and then use them. But you SHOULD talk AGAIN to your doctor and ask him about your inability to go. OR even better, talk to the Hospital Dietician about a good diet that would keep you regular. Eating fruits and green vegetables is a good way to stay regular, PLUS keeping a goodly amount of BRAN in your diet. Eating BRAN cereals and BRAN muffins, etc., helps. Anything made with bran is healthy.

I wish you the very best. Keep us posted ok? God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

I suggest taking a stool softener regularly. They keep the stool soft so it moves through easier.

Try adding water by making a habit of drinking a glass of water before bed and again when you get up in the morning.

If you are going to add fruits with skins and fiber, do it slowly.

If you aren't already, seeing a counselor for your anxiety and depression would be a great help too!

Thanks for this!

Hiii

I take Macrogol/Movicol I used to take the sachet everyday then every other day then every 3 days, then half sachet every other day then so on. Now I'm on 2 teaspoons twice a week which WAS working up until recently. Have gone yesterday but not completely empty as of yet tbh. The only changes that could be the reasons for this 'blip' include smoking about 5-6 a day and eating more stodgy foods the past month especially chocolate :\ Changed my diet now, back on the spinach (that always helped XD) & the fruit teas etc.

Thanks for the support

Are you considering gettting a second opinion. From another doctor. It's affecting your life, so it's important to find the cause. Any pain? if so, where. Did you have an xrays done in the past? Some conditions get worsened in times of stress. Try to take time each day to have a routine schedule and exercise to stimulate movement

I have/had a similar poo/pee problem, got "sniffed out" by my 2nd grade teacher when I went in my pants, even though we had our own bathroom in the classroom, so I have a faint idea where you are coming from. I'm 62 now and still usually go to the bathroom mostly in the middle of the night when there's no one to see/know/yell at me, etc.

I eat a lot of popcorn (poopcorn :-) for the fiber (I usually try for for 25-35 gms a day) and because I like it; it's a whole grain so good for one on several levels. You might try something like that?

For the leftover difficult/ugly childhood, I recommend therapy. And I'd think twice about bothering with studying something that you don't like; that just makes things harder for you, not easier. I was majoring in my #1 subject but my last year changed to another subject and did not get back to it until my 50's; a lot of "I wonder what it would have been like?" thinking after that. It all did/does come out all right in the end (sorry for the multi-layer pun :-) though.

i have very sluggish movement through the entire pipework from my stomach to bum, (had a 4 inch poilp removed from colon last year which helped but still have something there which means as i poop the lining of my bum/pipework moves down with the poop and blocks the exit hole!) movicol helps, but you have to drink masses of water as it needs this to soften excriment enough to aid it to slip down and out easily! lactulose is good too. i tend to aleternate a few days of movi then a few of lactulose so my body doesn't get used to one or the other. but the best thing i have found is... when i get really bunged up i have a big portion of chips (chunky/thick fries) the thin ones don't work, they have to be the 'proper English chips'... these are extremely reliable at pushing everything through in a few hours! ... it is the bulk that does it!

I used to be constipated. I now eat an apple and two oranges a day, and drink several litres of water, and that has helped enormously. I no longer have a problem.

You're not alone. Struggling with it, myself.

I also have problems drinking, and the idea of drinking litres a day honestly makes me laff; how the heck can anymore drink that much, every day?!

I hardly eat, or I eat quite a bit. I wouldn't say I have an eating disorder, but it's got to be knocking on its front door.

I think I might have IBS. You're not alone, basically.

Did you have that when you were born or did you develop it. Sounds scary I really hope I don't have a polyp :S
