My chest was originally hurt back when I was married. There was a boulder slide and they hit my side of the car. I slammed into the seat belt so hard that I broke two ribs toward my back and my whole right rib cage came loose from my sternum and had to be put back in place.

It eventually healed and then I was with the person who hit me in January last fall and he was mad and driving like an idiot and threw me into the seat belt very hard and it aggravated the old injury. It finally healed again.

When he hit me in January, he hit me so hard that it happened again. This time it hasn't healed. So, I am wondering if this has progressed to one of the conditions named in the article.

I have to be able to use my arms. I have to be able to function. I don't even know what kind of Dr. I need to help me with this. A rhuematoloigist? Whom?

Thanks for reading this.

Jan

Only for you would I come out of hiding....

I found this info about chest pain. Mention of violence causing injury.

Since you found the info in a rheumatology textbook, that would probably be the type of doc to go to. It was hard to tell based on the information, though; I see why you were confused.

Do you have an internist or GP that you could talk to and get a referral from?

Hugs and love,
Candy

Jan, I transcribe for a rheumatologist and those are two conditions that she works with, so that's what kind of doctor I'd start with. I can't give you any other info though, sorry. I found this info about chest pain. Mention of violence causing injury.

(((((((((( Candy & WI ))))))))))))

Thank you so much for writing to me. It means so much more than I can ever express.

I didn't even have sense enough to realize that was from a Rhuemy book! Thanks, both of you for that input.

I am getting ready to go back to my former GP. She is leaving the group she was with and going out on her own. I left because of all the stuff I had to put up with from the corporation she worked for, not because of her.

She will help me get to a Rhuemy as soon as possible, but there are so few here that it might take a while. I'm not afraid of needles and would welcome one in my chest if it will just help.

I would be crying today because of the pain but it doesn't help. I'm trying not to take one of my migrain pain meds but I'm going to have to. I hurt that much.

I also woke up with another black eye today. Another vessel broke over night from where he hit me in the face. It's been 6 months. When will it stop? I just don't know.

I didn't even bother to hide it with makeup today.

Again, thank you both so much.

Love and hugs,

Jan

(((Jan)))) I had to learn (read: many doctors telling me over and over) to take my migraine med asap... if you even THINK do I need one, is this a migraine, TAKE IT.. then decide once it's helped the pain level. I know it's expensive, but try this for say a month, and see if what they say isn't correct. I found this info about chest pain. Mention of violence causing injury.

Now, young lady, quit with the catastrophisizing this minute! I found this info about chest pain. Mention of violence causing injury. We all know ppl who have limited and some with no use of their arms...and life goes on. Odds are, you will too, no matter what you progress to, ok? I'm here too.

Lol!! What I meant is I need to take one to stop my chest pain today. The black eye is just there and not too painful. The chest is what hurts the most.

There may be a little meaness mixed in there making it hurt worse....who knows! I found this info about chest pain. Mention of violence causing injury.

Hugs,

Jan
