My inner ears have been itching like crazy for a long time. I clean them almost every day with Q-tips, and I can't stop. Is there a way to get rid of this itchiness?

My ears will itch real bad too, though it's generally the left one. I don't know of any way to get them not to itch. It's caused by the drainage tubes in the ear being too narrow for everything to drain properly. My tubes are so narrow I'll actually start getting a muscle spasm in my ear.
Thanks for this!

Do you have sinus issues or allergies? - they can cause itching in your ear.
Have you tried a Q-tip saturated in rubbing alcohol? - helps to relieve itching.
Thanks for this!

Indie, I'll admit I sometimes clean out my ears with a syringe of hydrogen peroxide. Tilt your head, put it in the one ear. It fizzes and bubbles and sounds weird, but then you tilt your head to drain it out and it does work for me. (the obviously do it for the other ear )

Where in your ear is it itchy? Outer ear? Inner ear? Down the tubes in your ear, ear?

Outer ear is pretty easy, inner ear and in the tubes, it could be you have smaller tubes in your ears.

I have been told doing that long-term can cause your inner ear to become dried out and more itchy though, so be forewarned about that.

Be careful with the Qtips Indie. They're not supposed to be inserted into the ear because it can push and compact the wax. Some people like my daughter produce more wax and it needs to be removed by a doctor sometimes. Christina mentioned a good point - using the Qtips could be making the skin feel dry since ear wax is a little oily, which acts as a natrual lubricant.

I do have allergies, but they've never caused itchy ears before, so I'm assuming it's not from that. Thanks for the info girls, I'll be sure to try your suggestions
