I have 2 slipped discs, lymphangioma (good tumors all over), migraines 7-9 days every month and a lot of other health problems, plus dyscalculia & dyspraxia. I have been staying at home for over 3 years, couldn't walk. Now I can, but I still have problems with my leg and back - they hurt like crazy.

But, I have to begin LIFE. I'm 22. So I'm going back to school, in 2 weeks. I haven't been out of my apartment 3 days in a row in years (well other than going to the grocery store), and all of the sudden I have to be in school from 8 to 3, do homework, work, cook dinner, do the laundry, be social...

I am absolutely terrified. I will probably fail. Have anyone been in the same situation?

Girl! Just let the LD people know at school and get all the help you can. There is lots of help. Wish I knew then what I know now! I'd probably have a Master's. I still can and I will try.

Are you striving for the education of something you will love to do? Is your heart in it? It will make a difference if you are going to school to help a dream along.

Welcome to PC trist. Talk to the school counselor, there are accomodations that schools make for each individual... and the list is long! It goes from extra breaks, to more time for testing, extra help, study guides whatever! See what your school can offer... you can do this.

BTW please do not change a subject title..only the thread originator should change the subject title... Going back to school in this case Trist is the originator. Going back to school TC!

hey dysgina welcome to pc :-)

i didn't know that about not changing the subject header sky, i thought it was okay to do that...

yeah, that would be great if there was a LD person at school, sometimes they can be a terrific help :-)

Are you studying at uni dysgina? What are you studying? I am too... The disability office has been a great help to me :-)

Yeah, I agree... It makes a big difference when there is something that you really want to do...
