WEll, I've been having these crazy things going on with me that are leading me to think I'm pregnant. For instance, I'm so exhausted like every 2 hours...same thing with my hunger...every 2 hours it feels like I haven't eaten for a week! So I'm ravenous a lot of the time. I'm pretty sure my period was supposed to start last Saturday, too. So it's late. I'm always regular and on time so of course I'm worried.

So I took a pregnancy test but it came out negative for being pregnant. I figure I'll test it again next Monday and if there's nothing I'll get the blood test done. Anyhow...I figured if I am pregnant I should stop my meds and quit the Mountain Dew (I drink 3 24-oz. bottles a day). Well, I switched to this stuff that I found out has aspartame in it. Not good.

Well, since starting to drink the stuff I've had really bad chest pain on my left side of my chest. It's almost unbearable. I quit drinking that stuff thinking it was that drink. Thank god I picked up some orange juice. So I've been drinking the orange juice most of today. Well, the chest pain is going away slowly...but I like quick results...so it's not going away fast enough. It hurts to bend over, breathe deeply, or anything like that.

Could this be a side-affect of the aspartame?

I don't know what's wrong. The chest pain is really bad. It's much worse when I breathe and try to lay down. It's extremely painful.

It's bearable when I'm sitting up but too painful if I try to lay down. I'll probably end up going to the ER today.

((((((( HUGS ))))))) - as with any one, if the pain continues on please go to the doctors and have it checked out.... it could be some thing as simply as gas or heart-burn, but then again it could be the start of some thing else.

And BTW - - - with my first child I was tested negative (by the doctors) for an entire month and half before their test showed POSITIVE.... that of which the EPT test I purchased at the local store had already told me I was pregnant a month ago - - GUESS who was RIGHT?

Thanks Rhapsody.

It's going on day 2 of the severe chest pain. I know it's not like any type of gastritis or heartburn I've ever had...but ya never know.

yes i am thinking you probably just have some sort of ensophegeal(sp?) issue from the aspartame...but, ANY chest pain should always be treated as suspicious and checked out. Getter checked out for sure.

Well, I went to the ER yesterday around 1:30 pm. I didn't get out of there until 5 pm.

They were happy in giving me xrays and poking and prodding me every chance they got! They put me on an IV, took blood...all that fun stuff. Well the final diagnosis? A chest wall strain!

How in the world did I manage that one? I have no clue since I don't do anything really strenuous. They gave me a script for 600 mg of Motrin. I'll get that filled today. Anyways, thank god a had regular Motrin in my purse!

Andy went with me...he pampered me the whole time! What a sweetheart! I laid there and had oxygen and all that stuff...and he sat there panicking and giving me foot massages the whole time we were there!

Since we didn't have a ride home, we walked over to Wal-Mart and he made me buy a new outfit! Geesh! I refused at first but finally gave in after he brought half the store to me asking if I liked this shirt, or this skirt, or these pants! LOL

We finally got a ride home and walked in the door around 10:30 pm! Now that's quite a day!
